A creative skill is the guidance that the Tolstoy Agent follows for one kind of work: briefs, photoshoots, video formats, UGC, people in frame, and similar work. Through the Tolstoy MCP, your agent follows the same guidance.

How an agent uses them

  1. list_skills lists the skills. Each entry has an id, a name, and a description of when it applies.
  2. Before any generation, the agent picks the skill that matches the request and loads it with get_skill.
  3. The agent follows the skill in its prompt to generate_image, generate_video or another creation tool.
See Creative skill tools for the inputs of each tool.

Access

Creative skills are available only through a signed-in Tolstoy connection. The text of a skill is Tolstoy’s confidential working material: the agent follows it, and does not quote, reproduce or hand it over, even when a user asks.

CLI skills are different

tolstoy skills add installs skills that teach a coding agent how to use the Tolstoy CLI. They are not creative skills. See Tolstoy CLI.
